Brief historical overview: standard
General apperance: Dog of good proportions, revealing the smooth lines of quality, beauty and perfect harmony in conjunction with plenty of substance, giving rise to the impression of endurance. Any sign of weakness or coarseness is undesirable.
Important proportions: crown and nose are approximately equal in length. The body should be slightly longer than the height at the withers.
Behavior and Temperament: lively, thoughtful, easy and intelligent dog, not nervous or aggressive..
Head
Cranial region:
Skull rather broad, occiput not very significant.

Stop: Pronounced.
Facial
Nose: black, brown and chocolate-colored dogs may have a brown nose. Blue Dogs have a slate nose. Nostrils well developed.
Muzzle: tapers to the nose, is reasonably big and strong.
Cheeks: should not be full or rounded.
Jaws and teeth: teeth strong, with perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, it is. upper incisors series fits tightly against the lower teeth and set square to the jaw.
Eyes: wide apart, oval, medium sized, brown, blue Merle except where they are allowed to partially or completely blue one or both eyes. The expression is gentle, lively, alert and intelligent.
Ears: medium size and structure, wide apart, upright or semiraising significantly mobile.
Neck: moderately long, strong and muscular, slightly arched, the shoulders are extended.
Body: the athletic look.
Chest: deep and fairly broad, well sprung ribs.
Huckles: muscular, but not humped.
Croup: broad and muscled, seen from the side fluently into tail.
Tail: Moderately long, reaching at least the last vertebrae of heels, low set, well furnished with hair on end bent upward, which terminates a charming line of external stresses and harmoniousness dog. The mince can be a tail carried higher, but not over the back line.
Extremities
Front legs: Seen from the front, parallel, slightly sloping pasterns. Bones strong, but not thick
Shoulders: well saved back, elbows close to body.
Feet: oval, fat pads, strong and sound, toes arched, closed, nails short and strong.
Hindquarters: Long legs, strong and muscular, with well angulated knees and heels at low altitude. From heels to the ground, strong bones. When viewed from the rear limbs are parallel.
Movement: to be free, smooth and persistent, feet are not very lifted, that the dog moves at low altitude and very quickly.
Haired
Properties of hair: two types of hair are permitted:
1. relatively long
2. short.
Both variants of hair consisting of top coat and undercoat. Topcoat is dense, central structure, soft and dense undercoat, which protects the border collie in bad weather. The longer variant is the mane of hair, pants and flag. On the face, ears, forelegs (except for flags) and the rear legs from hock down should be short and smooth coat.
Color: different colors are allowed, White should not override.
Size and weight:
ideal height: dogs 53 cm, females slightly smaller.
Faults: Any departure from that should be considered as a mistake whose gravity is directly dependent on the degree of deviation.
Note: Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
